December 19, 2020 at 2000 the ACODOSAH (Haitian Past Pupils of Dominique Savio Haiti) « Noel quand meme » celebration started with the salesian hymn sung by Ulyse Family. Past pupils deleguate father Sylvain Jeannot offered the opening prayer.
ACODOSAH’s President Jude Elie eloquently presented the welcome speech and reminded us of the importance of keeping hope despite COVID-19. He also reminded us of the importance to continue to work together to assist the children of Haiti achieve a salesian education, and « be good Christian and honest Citizens ».
The provincial Reverend father Jean Paul Mesidor shared with us the new year message of the Rector Major. In memoriam of our 2020 dearly departed, father Mesidor recounted the life and accomplishment of father Hector Pascal. Darlene Desrosiers reminded us of the highly spirited and motivated Salesian, of our sister Iselande Derosier.
We were honored with the presence of Macson Almeida, Executive Secretary Don Bosco GreenAlliance who talked about Green Environment, Ms. Silvia Ayala from Salesian Mexico South, and Mr. Arismendy Espinal from Dominican Republic who discussed the various worldwide issues we are facing today and the challenges that those impose on our daily lives. Among the invitees that could not participate in the Zoom celebration, Michal Hort president of Confederatio of past pupils , sent a pre-recorded video to offer his well wishes for the New Year. Edoaurdo cavacante VP of the Confederation, Peter Covak DiBOSCO founder, and sister Denise Sickinger F.M.A Province Delegate to the Salesian Family, Fr.Tom Dunne, SDB, SUE Delegate to the Salesian Family sent heartfelt letters that were read by Patrick Dorce and Exant Remy (ACODOSAH VP and Spokeman).
The entertainment continued with the result of the poem concours organize by ACODOSAH for youths students of Dominique Savio School, and also personalities of the year 2020 recognition to Fr. J.P Mesidor, Fr. Sylvain Jeannot, our mentors profesors Benito Dumay, Oranier Constant, Yves Devaris and Monica Lajoie for their commitment to our association.
The musical presentation by salesian artists past pupils, Romane P. Joseph, Exant Remy, Hayden Ulyse and family, Yverose Francois, Jean Michel Caseus, Romain Charles, Jacky Jean, Wilmar Joseph and Princess Liz. Alberte Lacrete, the event planner officer of ACODOSAH was complimented for the success of the event.The celebration ended with prayers and greetings from Fr Morachel Bonhomme, Vicar of the Vice Province of Haiti.
