Description of process/realiazation

Men In White – Documentary (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt7485518/)

Men in White is a delicate, absorbing and insightful post-war production. Crafted closely from the civil war affected areas in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka, it’s about a group of fearless Salesians of Don Bosco who rescued and transformed the lives of children who were caught in the crossfire. It is a fascinating journey into the heart of a true Salesian of Don Bosco.

Some of these interviews are rare and have been documented for the first time.

This documentary was extensively shot in Kilinochchi, Mullivaikkal, Puthukkudiyiruppu (Mullaitivu), Mankulam, Negombo, Colombo, Uswetakeiyawa, India (Chennai) and USA (California).

It is the first film ever to be premiered in Northern Sri Lanka. It has had over 100 international screenings, including special screenings at USA, Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. All proceeds from these screenings will be donated towards the cause of the war affected in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka.

The collaboration between the Past Pupils and the friends of Don Bosco makes this movement possible. Their faithful and consistent support makes every single volunteer a “Champion of Hope”. A Champion is someone who fights for a cause, a hero who comes to the rescue of those in need. In our world today, we need hope like never before – we need Champions of Hope.

These Champions of Hope will assit and support the Don Bosco Salesian community, with its non-discriminatory policy not only in Sri Lanka but all over the world, work towards educating and upholding the dignity of the young, especially the underprivileged.
