A hugely successful charity lunch was hosted by Salesian Secondary College Pallaskenry on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, in aid of ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services. The event took place at the elegant Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel & Spa and drew a large and supportive attendance from the local community.

Guests were welcomed with a prosecco reception at 1pm with Paddy O’Neill playing music in the foyer. This was followed by a four-course luncheon at 2pm. The afternoon continued with an appearance with Junk Couture World Designer of the Year winners.

There was more music entertainment by John Madigan and Kevin McCarthy. A lively raffle featured an impressive array of prizes, alongside several spot prizes, all of which contributed to a warm and enjoyable atmosphere.

A dedicated group of Leaving Certificate students played a central role in organising the event. In the weeks leading up to the lunch, they worked to source raffle prizes, liaising with local businesses and the wider school community, whose generosity was evident throughout.

On the day itself, the students were actively involved in hosting duties, modelling a showcase of the Spring/Summer collection available from Aisling Maher Millinery and Boutique. Students were also selling raffle tickets and engaging with guests, ensuring the smooth running and overall success of the event.Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to supporting such an important cause were clear to all in attendance.

While the final total raised is still being calculated, the event has already proven to be a significant success in aid of a vital community service. Gillian Baker from Adapt spoke to the gathering on the work and services of the charity and how these funds will be gratefully utilised.

A formal cheque presentation to ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services will take place at a later date, led by Therese Hogan and Jayme McMahon, charity lunch coordinators and the Leaving Cert student committee.

The school extends sincere thanks to everyone who contributed—through sponsorship, prize donations, attendance, and support—to make the day such a memorable and impactful occasion.
