The President of the World Confederation of Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco, Mr Bryan Magro, took part in the International Congress of the Salesian Cooperators held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Association of Salesian Cooperators.

During the congress, Mr Magro participated in a panel discussion led by the outgoing World Coordinator of the Salesian Cooperators, Antonio Boccia, reflecting on the role of lay associations within the Salesian Family and their contribution to the mission of Don Bosco in today’s world.

Addressing delegates from across the globe, Mr Magro highlighted the vital vocation of lay members in carrying forward the Salesian charism. Emphasising the shared mission of the various groups within the Salesian Family, he noted: “As lay people within the Church and within the Salesian Family, we are called to dedicate our lives to our families, to our work, and to our communities. We are called to serve others and to become missionaries in our everyday lives, contributing to the building of the Kingdom of God here on earth.”

The congress served as an opportunity to celebrate 150 years of the Salesian Cooperators’ presence in the Church while reaffirming the commitment of lay people to evangelisation, youth ministry, and service in society. Participants stressed the importance of collaboration among all branches of the Salesian Family in responding to the needs of young people and promoting Don Bosco’s educational and spiritual legacy.

Mr Magro’s participation underlined the strong bond between the World Confederation of Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco and the Association of Salesian Cooperators, united in their mission to bring hope, faith, and practical support to young people throughout the world.
